Omaha native, Rick Brown, left for California to pursue his career as an illustrator.  His big break came when he landed a position with a major studio working with a number of noted illustrators.  In 1984 he began freelancing with an impressive client list that included Disney, Universal Studios, Milton Bradley, The NFL, The Bradford Exchange, and Chevron USA, among others.

His versatility in styles allowed him to jump back and forth between a realistic and an animated look, depending on the client.  He, among others, popularized the 3-D look to previously flat animated characters that are so common now.

The majority of his commercial work is a mix of acrylic and airbrush, but he’s comfortable with oils and other media as well.  He currently calls Elkhorn his home.
